Great news! Junior Squash in Manitoba have been approved as an approved project under the National Sport Trust Fund-Manitoba Division.
Squash Manitoba is a non profit organization. We receive a large portion of our funding from Sport Manitoba, a partner of the Provincial Government. Sport Manitoba has incurred funding cuts, and a portion of these cuts have been passed on to all of the provincial sport organizations including Squash Manitoba.
Previous boards and direction have left Squash Manitoba on solid financial grounds and very able to weather small funding cuts without affecting current programs. However, the facts are that the organization is facing decreased funding and increased costs. To help offset these costs Squash Manitoba has applied for, and been approved, to be a recipient for the National Sport Trust Fund (NTSF). Anyone but parents of Squash Manitoba Junior Provincial Team athletes can donate to this fund and receive a tax receipt for that donation. All of the funds donated go to programs for junior squash in Manitoba.
Junior squash players in Manitoba have a history of punching way above our weight class in terms of results and levels of participation. The goal is not only to maintain current junior squash programs, but to grow the programs. All of your donations can go a long way to getting more junior squash players on the court.
